Bariloche – alpine architecture in Argentinia

Being in Bariloche, the Northern Patagonia, felt almost a little bit like being at home. The city itself is more or less the size of Salzburg, it‘s very touristic and next to some great mountains and lakes.

After a night on the bus, I arrived there and waited for some friends from Salzburg. One of them knew Juan, a guy who was living there and we could stay at his place. Sleeping either in the tent, in the caravan in his garden or staying at a friend‘s house in the neighbourhood was our home for more then a week.
For two days we hiked up to Refugio Frey in the middle of Cerro Catedral, which is probably the most famous ski resort in South America. Great views and a small like there were the highlights. The rest of the time we spent with lying on one of the numerous beaches, having asado (the argentinian version of BBQ) and having fun and a good time together. When we were staying at Juan‘s place we were not the only guests. Also his parents and for some days also two french guys were there. All in all a very relaxed atmosphere with perfect weather….
